So my wife is a Pampered Chef consultant and made this recipe from the Pampered Chef a few times. That recipe is completely done in the microwave with specific Pampered Chef products and is very good. However, she adapted it to a standard stove top recipe and it’s still just a good, if not better.
This is a soup I could eat every day it’s so good.
So maybe lots of you know this already, but I bet some of you don’t.
If you have a Jimmy Johns near you, they only use very fresh bread. They bake it in each store and only keep it for so long before they deem it not good enough for their sandwiches. The best part about this, is you can buy the old bread for cheap.
A loaf of their bread, which is probably 2 feet long, sells for around $.50. Recently we had an event for our church Youth Group and we wanted to provide food for them. We contacted a local Jimmy Johns and the manager said to stop by right after they close and they’d give us the bread they were going to throw away for free. My wife headed over there and came home with two garbage bags full of bread. We must have had 40+ loaves.
Most people who know me know that I make home made pizza quite often. We made some tonight so I thought I’d share the info and maybe inspire others to try it out. It’s far better tasting, better for you, and cheaper than ordering out.
So my cousin had a dessert bracket that corresponded with the NCAA tournament. The final came down to Ice Cream Cake vs Apple Pie. I just happened to have an Ice Cream Cake recipe, so I offered to make it for the competition ans judging party. Everyone loved it so I’m sharing the recipe here.
The only store bought products are the Oreo cookies and the Ice Cream. The rest is all made from scratch. It’s very easy to make but takes a bit of time since you have to freeze it a bit after each section. Also, the original recipe only had layers for the cookie crust, ice cream, fudge, and whipped cream. I added an additional cookie crust and ice cream layer to spruce it up a bit.
